Cigar FAQ's

Just the FAQ's ma'am...Dog with cigar

I’ve got Tobacco Beetles, what do I do?
Start by throwing out any cigars that have beetles and larvae.  Freeze the rest of you cigars in a Ziploc bag for four days to kill any bugs, larvae, and eggs.  Then place them in the refrigerator to thaw.  After they’ve thawed out, put them in a cooler if you have one, just to avoid a wild temperature swing as they come back to room temperature.
Read our Tobacco Beetles article for more information on this pest that can ruin a perfectly good stock of cigars.

I just bought a box of cigars.  How much of my money went to taxes?

As of April 1, 2009 every large cigar in America is subjected to a 52.75% tax with a cap of 40.26¢ on each cigar sold wholesale.

So how much of your money went to taxes?  I don't know exactly, but it was way more than it should have been.

My cigars burn uneven, what should I do?

Smoke slower, smoking a cigar fast will no doubt cause a jacked up burn.

Let your cigars rest in a humidor longer.  You'll notice that they'll burn straighter and have a whiter ash.  Who doesn't like a nice ash?
