Lighting a Cigar

Torch Lighter
Toast the foot of your cigar buy burning tip of the wrapper all the way around.  This will give it a more even burn.  Then hit the face of the foot with the torch lighter before raising it to your mouth.  With a decent sized torch flame you can probably light the foot enough to where you won’t have to light-and-draw at the same time.
If you do light-and-draw, don’t touch the flame to the cigar, it’s not necessary.  That just burns the wrapper, which is where all that great flavor is and it starts to make it burn unevenly.

Matches
Using just one match isn’t as easy as using two.  You obviously get a bigger flame and it won’t unintentionally blow out as easily.

Cedar Strips
Cedar strips give off a nice aroma and flavor.  Don’t throw away those cedar wraps that come in tubes or wrapped around a cigar.  Use them to light you stogies.  The thin strips light easily, but they burn really fast so you may need to or three to get a good light.  As always toast the foot before lighting for a more even burn.  This is where a torch lighter comes in handy.
